10 things you can do before you leave EYFS

Homework

Homework will be sent home on Fridays. At this moment in time you do not need to return any homework to school. If you would like to take a picture of your child completing their homework please do so and send to Mrs Roberts's email address.

Reading

We regularly read with the children twice a week in Guided Reading sessions as well as daily as a class. It is very important that you read it and read with your child everyday after school or later in the evening for 10 minutes. At this moment in time we will not be sending home reading books, therefore you do not need to bring in your child's red reading folder. Mrs Roberts will be sending home information on how to access Oxford Owl. This is a reading tool where you can access books to read online.

All our reading books come in a set and if a child loses one, a payment of £20 will be needed to replace a new set we cannot purchase individual books.

P.E.

Our PE day is on a Friday. On this day only children are allowed to come to school in either, black or navy leggings/ jogging bottoms, red T-shirts with their school jumper or cardigan over the top and black pumps or trainers. They can wear navy PE shorts underneath their bottoms which they can take off if they get too hot.

Water bottles

The children need to have access to water all day. If your child prefers to have a water bottle to drink from they can be purchased from the office.  It is parent’s responsibility to collect water bottles from the classroom/outside and take them home to be washed daily.

Snack

The children in reception have a snack mid-morning which will be a variety of fruit and a drink of milk/ water.  As the school receive this free their is no charge for snack this academic year.

Forest Skills

Every so often we go into 'The Dell' to extend our learning and explore the outdoors! Please ensure that wellies or trainers are kept at school and a change of trousers or skirt. Thank you.

Family Mornings/Family Afternoons

At this moment in time our family mornings/afternoons have been postponed due to the current situation. Mrs Roberts will be sending home a letter with all the information you would receive at the family mornings/afternoons. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us on the school number or via email and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

We look forward to welcoming you back into class on Thursday 3rd September.
