Foundation Stage 2 2019 - 2020
Teacher: Mrs Holtom
Welcome to Reception!
Welcome to Foundation Stage Two and our school family at St Theresa's Primary School. If you have any questions throughout the year, worries or information you think I need to know please feel able to see me at the end of the school day. An appointment is not always necessary. I am really looking forward to helping you teach your child and welcome you again to the school family at St Theresa’s Primary School.
Your child will grow and develop lots throughout the year. Click the link below:
Homework will be given out on a Thursday or Friday and must be returned to school on a Tuesday. Please help your child to complete their homework, thank you
We regularly read with the children twice a week in Guided Reading sessions as well as daily as a class. There is a sheet in your child’s reading folder of helpful hints and how to get the best from your child when you are reading at home. It is very important that you read it and read with your child everyday after school or later in the evening for 10 minutes. All our reading books come in a set and if a child loses one, a payment of £20 will be needed to replace a new set we cannot purchase individual books. It is a good idea to have a place in your home where the reading book is kept, when it is not being read. Please remember to bring your child's reading folder in every day so we can change books and to sign or comment when your child has read with you.
All the children will require a pair of blue shorts and a red tshirt. Our PE day is a Monday. However this regularly changes! To ensure that all children have their P.E kits for P.E they can leave their bags in the cloakroom on their pegs until half term when we will send it home to be washed.
The children need to have access to water all day. If your child prefers to have a water bottle to drink from they can be purchased from the office. It is parent’s responsibility to collect water bottles from the classroom/outside and take them home to be washed daily.
The children in reception have a snack mid-morning which will be a variety of fruit and a drink of milk/ water. As the school receive this free their is no charge for snack this academic year.
Every so often we go into 'The Dell' to extend our learning and explore the outdoors! Please ensure that wellies or trainers are kept at school and a change of trousers or skirt. Thank you.
