Year 2 2018 - 2019

Mrs McConnell

Teacher - Mrs McConnell
Teaching Assistant - Mrs Gibbs

Welcome to our school family in Year 2.

P.E Days- Year 2 P.E days are Thursdays and Fridays. Please ensure full P.E kit is in school for these days and all earrings that can be taken out are left at home or a plaster is brought in to cover the earrings.

Water Bottles- Please can your child be provided with a water bottle that can be used to drink from during the school day. Bottles can be purchased from the school office or any sports top bottle can be used. The bottles should be taken home and brought back to school daily.

Snack- Toast can be bought to eat at break time. The cost for 5 days is £1.25 or 25p a day. Money should be brought in on Monday only in a named envelope with the correct change.

Reading - All the children will participate in guided read sessions in school twice a week with an adult and will have the opportunity to take two books home to read each week. Can I remind you that parents can read other books with their children at home and there are some great books in the school library and at Blacon and Chester library.  Children will need to bring their reading folders into school each day and as far as possible children’s guided reading days will remain constant but unfortunately in school sometimes these routines need to be adapted.  If we do need to adapt this routine it is important all children have their reading folders in school. Spelling and Maths homework will be given out on a Friday and can be returned to school in their reading folders on a Wednesday.

Just a reminder:

  • Reading folders to be brought to school EVERY DAY
  • Homework issued FRIDAY
  • Homework collected WEDNESDAY
